This workshop is designed to build essential research skills among early career researchers through focused, practical training in three key areas. The first section addresses Systematic Literature Reviews, equipping participants with the tools and techniques needed to conduct comprehensive, transparent, and methodologically sound reviews. The second section focuses on Quantitative Research Methods, with an emphasis on survey design and advanced analytical techniques, enabling participants to gather and analyse data effectively to answer complex research questions. The final section explores Open Research practices, including open access publishing, data sharing, and reproducibility, fostering a culture of transparency and collaboration. Collectively, the workshop supports the development of rigorous, ethical, and impactful research practices.
The Workshop is organized as part of the “Pathways to sustainability: Transforming battery wastes into high-performance carbon materials for cleaner energy generation” joint research project between VinUniversity (Vietnam), the University of Manchester (UK), and the University of the West of England (UK). It will take place during the HORIZONS2025 – Materials Innovation with AI & Automation conference, a platform dedicated to showcasing advanced materials research and global academic collaboration.
