The Center for Environmental Intelligence (CEI) is a hub for “Green and Sustainable Tech Transfer” at VinUni. It fosters global collaborations to address environmental challenges using advanced technology and interdisciplinary research. CEI focuses on smart and sustainable development, driving transformative solutions for Vietnam and beyond. Its mission includes creating a robust platform for technology transfer and partnering to tackle climate change and sustainability. Key research areas involve the development of AI-driven advanced materials for energy storage, energy conversion, and green chemical production.
Job Summary:
Technician for deployment and operation of High-Performance Computing (HPC), networking, and server systems for CEI projects.
Responsibilities:
- Support procurement, deployment, installation, configuration, and optimization of High-Performance Computing (HPC) systems.
- Install, design, and configure physical and virtualized server systems.
- Design, implement, and administer internal network systems (LAN, WAN, and HPC interconnect such as InfiniBand/Ethernet).
- Monitor and analyze system performance; troubleshoot hardware and software issues in HPC and server environments.
- Manage Linux/Unix operating systems (preferably RedHat/CentOS/Ubuntu) and foundational services.
- Support integration of computational software and scheduling tools (Slurm, PBS, Kubernetes, or equivalent).
- Propose infrastructure upgrades to ensure system stability, security, and high performance.
Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in information technology, electronics & telecommunications, or a related field.
- Experience in installing and administering servers, storage, and networking systems.
- Proficiency in Linux operating systems with basic knowledge of virtualization (VMware, KVM, Docker).
- Knowledge of HPC technologies, cluster computing, or parallel computing is a strong advantage.
- Ability to read and understand technical documents in English.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience in deploying HPC, cloud, or data center systems.
- Knowledge of cloud infrastructure design and operations (OpenStack, AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience in building or managing servers for IoT or edge computing systems.
- Proficiency in scripting (Bash, Python) for system administration automation.
- Relevant certifications (Linux, Networking, Cloud, HPC).
